Current from 12th November to 26th November 2019
The full moon chart reflects the nature of the Sun and Moon’s opposition and there is a focus on a variety of relationships with other people during the last two weeks of the cycle. The previous full moon on 13th October featured Venus and Mars as the Sun was in Libra (belonging to Venus) and the Moon opposed the Sun in the sign of Aries (belonging to Mars). Both Venus and Mars made close aspects to Uranus and change, upheaval and sudden news were definite themes in last month’s restless full moon.
The same two planets are highlighted once more in this month’s full moon as the Sun has moved into Scorpio (Mars’ sign) and the Moon opposes it in Taurus (Venus’ sign). However, this time the flavour of the full moon is very different as neither planet aspects Uranus, and each one has its own agenda.
The other significant aspect is Mercury’s close association with the Sun in Scorpio, and as Mercury is retrograde at the time of the full moon, there are bound to be some troubles around miscommunication, lost papers, fiery discussions and harsh words.
Planets to Watch in the Next Fortnight
Mercury (Retrograde) – Mercury goes Direct again on 21st November
Mars – ruler of Sun’s sign of Scorpio
Venus – ruler of Moon’s sign of Taurus
Sun conjunct Mercury (Retrograde)
Scorpio Sun conjunct Mercury in Scorpio means both planets receive their directions from Mars. Unfortunately Mars is unhappy in the sign of Libra and some relationships are likely to sour under these conditions. A prickly, highly-defensive Mercury which already feels disadvantaged or lied to, is a hard place from which to re-start stalled negotiations or to smooth over ruffled feathers.
Retrograde Mercury needs very little incentive to raise its voice, give its opinions, or mention that it has been wronged in some way. Especially when it is found in the sign of Scorpio. Under the full moon Mercury is as much in opposition to the Moon as it is conjunct the Sun and feelings are likely to be hurt, especially in family situations, if Mercury does not hold its tongue, or reconsider the damage it is capable of with spite or angry hurtful words.
Mercury sextile Saturn
Saturn may be Mercury’s saving grace during the next two weeks. With such a good aspect Saturn provides Mercury with at least three sound choices here. One, recheck your information to make sure you are not the one with the wrong end of the stick. Two, apologize with good grace if you are the one who got it wrong as the Moon is exalted in Taurus and as such, the other party can afford to be forgiving of your mistakes. On the other side of the coin, if someone comes to you to say ‘sorry’ and make amends, be merciful, and use the exalted Moon to repair damaged bridges. Three, wait until Mercury has gone direct on 21st November and tackle the problem again. Saturn is the lord of Time, and sometimes a decent space in time gives everyone the opportunity to calm down and be rational in their thought processes.
Mars sextile Jupiter
Mars, the ruler of this month’s Sun, is going through a difficult sign at the moment. Mars prefers to be direct, to act with decisiveness, and to face any challenge head-on. Unfortunately, when in Libra, it dithers, changes direction constantly or finds just everything a tad too hard or too much effort. When the new moon began two weeks ago on 28th October the Sun and Moon conjunction was in close opposition to Uranus, and like the two weeks before it, change was definitely in the air. But you might not have been prepared for it at the time. Jupiter’s aspect to Mars is one which is kind, supportive and encouraging and from such a benevolent planet, Mars might finally find the courage to move forwards and make the change happen.
Jupiter may also play a hand in helping with any disputes that Mercury/Sun in Scorpio may have got themselves caught up in. Jupiter represents someone older or wiser, or a professional in the law, negotiation, and sometimes even from the medical field, who can offer their assistance at this strained time.
Listening to someone who has everyone’s respect and is totally outside of the situation is worth a try as they will be able to give you a fresh perspective, and with both Saturn and Jupiter still in their signs of rulership, a sensible third party will come in very handy if things (and retrograde Mercury) are getting out of hand.
Venus square Neptune
Venus plays a significant role in this coming fortnight as it rules the Moon’s sign of Taurus. The Moon loves Venus’ sign as this exalted luminary gives the individual the fabulous opportunity to indulge in all the things the physical body craves without having to justify its needs to anyone. Cravings such as food, warmth, comfort, recreation, sex, good times, etc, etc, etc, (fill in your own list here).
For this reason, it’s important to know what is happening in Venus’ world if you are going to let go and live a little. At the time of the full moon Venus has moved into Sagittarius, an excessive sign belonging to Jupiter. It’s going to be hard to pull back and show some restraint under these conditions.
And now we are going to add Neptune – the planet that has very few boundaries, does not understand the principle of responsibility or discipline, loves escapism and is known to rule stimulants and mind-altering agents such as alcohol and drugs. My best advice? ‘Take it easy and don’t overload the Moon through any excessive behaviour that Venus and Neptune might talk you into’.
Venus rules love and affection and there is a possibility that a new love interest is around the place in the next two weeks. Venus in Sagittarius casts its net wide and someone who has been in the background for the past twelve months (whilst Jupiter has been in Sagittarius), may suddenly seem to be an interesting proposition.
Venus square Neptune is beautiful in love – passionate, romantic, soul-searching love – wine and roses at its very best. But Neptune love can be fleeting, illusionary, or self-deceit, so be careful if you think you are serious about your new love. Don’t give them your bank balance number or the keys to your car just yet. Wait and see if there is substance to this love. And enjoy every damn minute of it – it’s the stuff that Rom-Coms are made of!
