These three years are occupied with the final three houses in the chart.
For a full description of the tenth, eleventh and twelfth houses, revisit the blog on 21, 22 and 23 (1st November 2019), as well as the extended explanations for the ages of 33, 34 and 35 years of age (8th December 2019).
These same houses are revisited every twelve years and whilst the ruler of the house does not alter over a lifetime, you will have changed along the journey and your attitude to the ruling planet will also have developed and evolved over time. You will be more familiar with how these important planets express themselves in your life. Your experiences and memories will colour how you view these years and earlier successes and failures in the career, your levels of job satisfaction and your ability to create goals for the future are influenced by how things have progressed during these earlier twelve year cycles.

Profections: Moving Forward Through the Houses
45 years old : TENTH HOUSE
Forty five arrives a couple of years after Saturn’s opposition (see last week’s blog) and you will be working through the repercussions from any conflict you may have had with Saturn figures such as employers or those who have control over your working life. Sometimes the battle comes from those who feel that it is you who is trying to control them and your relationship with employees, or those ranked beneath you, may have been sorely tested in the previous years.
By now you may have some sort of title for easy identification, and this year may test your ease or your lack of comfort with your label in society. Sometimes this label is purely about your professional status, but at other times there is some level of notoriety which you crave, or which irks you.
Tenth house is also the house belonging to mother so there may be some old issues you wish to work through to strengthen your bond with her. If her health is failing or you notice increased signs of aging it may be that you need to make some readjustments to your own life to assist her passage into old age.
46 years old : ELEVENTH HOUSE
Your social groups may have changed greatly since you last visited this house twelve years ago. Our evolution as an adult means we often out-grown the friends, activities, conversations and behaviour of those with whom we spent our twenties and thirties.
Your closest friends may still remain, but they are described by the seventh house, not the eleventh, especially when the eleventh lies alongside your public status house. As we change jobs (and relationships) we connect and disconnect and although we have good intentions to ‘stay in touch’, a lack of time, opportunity, or shared experiences, means that sadly we often leave behind our eleventh house friendships.
47 years old : TWELFTH HOUSE
The last house in the chart is also the place where we spend the final year in a twelve year cycle. The profections match Jupiter’s return at each of the twelve year spots of 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72 years of age. Next year will be a new beginning and so the year which precedes it, is one for letting go and making room for change.
It’s one of the reasons that the twelfth house is often useful for withdrawal and contemplation on where you are as a person. Sometimes we let our fears and anxieties get the better of us but it’s only a reminder of night terrors when we were children and when everything in the dark seemed frightening and unfamiliar.
The twelfth is a ‘dark’ house which receives no light from the Ascendant, and often there are varying shades of ‘darkness’ involved in this year. This can be a range of happenings which are totally unexpected and unplanned for, and although they can lead to your release from a commitment so you can move into a new life, there can be a sense of loss, abandonment or grief attached to the ‘how it happened’ rather than ‘why it happened’.

Firdaria: Time Portions Belonging to the Planets
The two sect classifications for Firdaria (diurnal or nocturnal births) continue with their Saturn/ Sun theme, only each is in the reverse of the other and this curiosity was discussed in last week’s blog.
For both day and night-timers all the tension which exists in this combination is present in the form of obligations, responsibilities, reminders of past failures, and fears for the future. Sun with Saturn often carries a nagging feeling that “I should be doing better in life”, and no matter how high you have risen in status, or how successfully you have been in achieving your career aspirations Saturn will still prod you with reminders of your weaknesses as the Sun adds its own unrealistic expectations, or plays the game of unfair comparisons which you can never win.
We often find ourselves comparing our lives with others, and of course, with Saturn, we are always going to come up short in this one-way competition. These three years, from 45 to 47, are often the years when we think that a ‘sea change’ may possibly be the cure-all for life’s ills. Let’s leave our job, down-size or upgrade our home, and change our location (10th house).

Still sixteen months to go with the Sun’s sub-period and the tenth house is a perfect place to feel as though the world is watching you and judging you for any mistakes they think you might be making. You were born during the day and the Sun is your luminary but that doesn’t always make it easy to know how to improve a tough dilemma at work, or how to make the best of a terrible situation over which you have little or no control.
If you feel as though you are being ignored or your achievements are being undermined then this year may see you looking around for better opportunities. A change in management structure could help you to rise higher, but if you are over-looked then the combination of Saturn with the Sun is going to leave you seething at the prospect of taking instruction from a younger version of yourself, or someone who is either incompetent or too lazy to do the job properly.

The first four months of this year may see you taking a larger role in others’ training or development in your job description. Venus takes over from the Sun and the pressure should ease for the remainder of this year. The eleventh house concerns your social set and peer group so Venus’ capacity to kick back and have fun is much more accentuated during this time. It may be that the job you started at the beginning of the year which involved groups of people, has now become familiar to you and you are more comfortable in the role, or you have made some valuable or enjoyable friendships within the group.
Venus loves to nourish your unique brand of creativity and with relaxation or increased ease you may be both highly productive (Saturn) and creative (Venus) – provided you are willing to do the hard work to achieve this goal.
In traditional astrology Saturn and Venus do not have a strained relationship as Saturn ‘borrows’ Venus’ sign of Libra for its exaltation. Rather, these two can set up an internal debate on which of your friends are reliable, steady and tolerant of your idiosyncrasies, and even though you may have to cull those who do not fit into this category, for Saturn it is more about quality of friendships rather than quantity. You may find yourself setting up mini tests for your friends, but be careful not to be judgemental or expect an unrealistic level of commitment from them. Remember that they have their own problems too.

Twelfth house is not usually a very sociable place, especially as the ancients called it the house of sorrow, lamentation, sickness and imprisonment. For the majority of this year Venus will still be your sub-lord and this tends to suggest that you are contemplating the nature of your successes and failures in the avenue of relationships.
Twelfth house is also the house of your partner’s illnesses or misfortunes so that under a Saturn and Venus Firdaria it is possible that you are the one who is taking the greater responsibility for the partnership either by supporting them emotionally, financially, and sometimes physically, if their health is failing. You are about to move into a whole new cycle and this last couple of months will give you the opportunity to do some quiet reflection on where you want to be headed in the next twelve years. Saturn will have one last sub-period ruler which will be the Moon, so try to use Mercury to mend fences that have been broken and to repair tattered family and friend relationships before you encounter the heartfelt sadness of regret and isolation which can be the final last eighteen months of Saturn’s rule through the lens of an emotion-driven Moon.

Saturn is the short-term ruler for the next fourteen months and during its term you have the chance to review your working life, your objectives and aspirations, and your public status throughout this time.

The Sun’s weakness is foolishness through pride and arrogance so be careful that you are absolutely sure of your facts and not just picking a fight to gain attention from others. Don’t be the loudest drum unless it is critical to your integrity or the belief that your battle will benefit others as well as yourself. It may be a battle you cannot win, but the Sun combined with Saturn is unlikely to back down or take advice if it truly believes in the rightness of its principles. In the long run only you will know if this conflict is truly worth the risk and the effort.

Jupiter may not be too happy about this move to a twelfth house focus. Like most planets it does not thrive in this dark house and sometimes the difficult themes have an opposite effect on a planet’s nature in situations that can arise from the twelfth house.
Under most conditions Jupiter is a benefic planet: it looks to produce good things for the person going through any of Jupiter’s Firdaria. A combination of the Sun and Jupiter by rights should indicate a rise in prestige, honours, recognition for past achievements or present efforts, rewards, or gaining the attention of important people who can accelerate your upward movement in society’s ranks. Basically, being in the right place at the right time and nudging shoulders with the right people.
However, the twelfth house indicates a level of blindness that others presently have towards you. Any achievements are likely to be over-looked, your honours and prestige go to the person whom you think least deserves it (usually your nemesis), and you feel like you are surrounded by those who seem particularly skilled at the assassination of your character and reputation.
Under these circumstances Jupiter becomes jumpy, paranoid and easily agitated. Keen to have everyone’s sympathy Jupiter will broach these injustices at the drop of a hat and regale anyone who will listen with tall tales about how you are the innocent party who has been wronged. This gets old very quickly for your audience and the twelfth house can manifest itself as social isolation, fears and anxieties and a feeling of entrapment in a situation you cannot possible avoid or escape. Best to use Jupiter’s sub-period to bide your time, stay positive, and just endure the hardships because there really is little you can do about them at this moment in time.
On a good note, if the twelfth house has been the concern of your partner’s health then Jupiter may lift some of the worry by an improvement or the right professional help for their condition.

The good news is that Mars is a nocturnal planet so you will be able to strengthen your resolve to get through the remainder of this year. Mars in a night-time chart is courageous, tenacious and enduring, but it is still the planet that signifies conflict, separations, arguments and the drawing of blood with sharp instruments. This is great if you are having surgery, but not so good if you are trying to live out the final five months of the twelfth house in peace and quiet.
Those enemies who have been gathering at the gate during Jupiter’s sub-period are likely to get both barrels from you when Mars takes Jupiter’s place but you have to wonder if you have the energy to fight shadows or to take offence at gossip or sly insinuations fired in your direction.
Mars is the Sun’s final sub-lord and if you have been paying attention over the past eight and a half years you should now be familiar with your own capabilities, be fully aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and know the difference between what is true and what is false about your personality and character. If Mars and the twelfth house are about ridding you of the last of your false vanities then pay attention and be tough enough to force the changes if that’s what is needed to make you a better version of yourself.
